Oliver Elliott Casler, age 9, of Mansfield, Ohio, left us unexpectedly on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
Born June 30, 2016, in Mansfield, Oliver was the cherished son of Andrea Kirby and Christopher Casler. A lifelong resident of Mansfield, he attended Mansfield Christian School.
Oliver will live forever in our hearts for his love for Jesus, his family, his friends, his teachers, his gentle loving spirit, the sparkle in his smiling eyes, and his joyful, kind nature. The sunshine and light inside him brightened every room he entered and every life he touched.
He was excited to explore anything academic related, especially his STEM program that he participated in at school. He had a curiosity for figuring out how things worked—often by taking things apart and putting it back together better than before, just like he did so often with his beloved LEGOs!
He loved school and learning, was excited about dancing and playing soccer with his Kinder Groups at Liederkranz, riding trails and BMX racing with his dad, camping, going boating and tubing from their boat, and spending time playing and creating games with his cousins.
Baptized at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oliver was a third grader at Mansfield Christian School, a member of Mosaic Church of Mansfield, a member of the Kinder Dance Group and soccer team at Mansfield Liederkranz, a member of the third/fourth grade Basketball team at MCS and a member of the Westerville BMX racing team.
Though his precious time with us was far too brief, the radiant light and boundless love Oliver brought into our lives will shine eternally in our hearts, never fading.
Those left behind to forever cherish his memory are his mother Andrea Kirby; his paternal grandmother Ingrid Casler (who he called Oma); his maternal grandmother Joan (Rick) Dutcher; his sisters Lilly and Emma Bishop and little brother Silas; his aunts Robin (Bill) Summers and Laura (Tim Sweet) Casler; and his cousins Joshua Hahn, Konner, Aaron and Tyler Summers, and Aaliyah, Atlas and his very best friend and “twin” cousin Amelia (Millie) Sweet.
Oliver was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents Gustav Sloboda and Anna (Echelle) Sloboda; his paternal great-grandparents Emmet Casler and Eula Wellman Vigneron; his paternal grandfather Emmet “Tim” Casler; and his uncle Brian Casler.
Calling hours will be observed Saturday, December 13th, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Mosaic Mansfield, 296 Park Ave. W., Mansfield. Calling hours will conclude promptly at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Mansfield Christian School, 500 Logan Rd., Mansfield, OH 44907.
