Robert Dean Forsythe, Jr.
August 9, 1946 – December 2, 2025
Robert D. “Bob” Forsythe, Jr., age 79, passed away on December 2, 2025, in Stuart, Florida, after a courageous 12-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Born to Robert and Mary Forsythe in Shiloh, Ohio, Bob graduated from Plymouth High School in 1964. Shortly afterward, he was drafted and proudly served in the U.S. Army as a founding member of the 240th Assault Helicopter Company, serving with honor in Vietnam.
Following his military service, Bob earned his degree from Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana. He married his high school sweetheart, Martha Carter, and together they celebrated 57 wonderful years of marriage. After completing his education, Bob and Martha returned to Richland County and eventually made Bellville, Ohio their home.
Bob was a passionate supporter of the Clear Fork Colts, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, and his beloved Cleveland Browns. On most Saturday mornings, he could be found at Whitey’s Barbershop solving the problems of the world, or at a car show proudly cruising his 1968 Dodge Charger. During his professional career, Bob worked at J.B. Foote in Fredericktown, Ohio, TAS-CO in Mansfield, Ohio, and Voisard Manufacturing in Shiloh, Ohio, where he retired after a successful career as a Sales Engineer. Upon retirement, Bob and Martha fulfilled their dream of settling in Ocean Breeze, Florida.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Martha; his children: Julie Forsythe (Allen Cohen) of Deptford, New Jersey, Robin (Ryan) Kinder of Monroe, Ohio, and Michael (Kristin) Forsythe of Bellville, Ohio; his treasured grandchildren: Jack, Owen, and Ava Kinder; and his sister, Kay Fenton of Jensen Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Forsythe family will receive friends Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where a memorial service honoring Bob will follow at 12 pm. Celebrant Dick Brenneman will speak.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Bob’s honor.
