MANSFIELD — Brandy Loveland’s new lucky number is 49 — the number on top of the winning Queen of Hearts card in City Grille’s weekly drawing.
The card won the Mansfield woman the $699,273 jackpot on Thursday after playing since the current contest began.
Loveland has been playing with her husband, Tony, since this year’s game started Dec. 5, 2024, finally drawing the Queen of Hearts from the three remaining cards.
A massive crowd braved frigid temperatures on a cold night for the drawing, which was moved to the Brickyard from its regular spot outside the City Grille at 37 E. Fourth St.

Each week, the two purchased a combined $300 dollars worth of tickets, equivalent to 150 tickets.
“I just had a feeling. I don’t know why, but I just knew 49 was it,” Loveland said.
The two always put the same number on their tickets: 49, which ended up being the Queen of Hearts.
“I am going to take care of our children: they’re going to get a piece of the pie. And I’m going to Buckingham Palace in London, England, because that is my goal,” she said.
Loveland is a lifelong Mansfield resident. Along with a trip to London, Brandy will be paying off the costs from a recent back surgery.
Tony Loveland plans to buy a new Harley Davidson motorcycle. More immediately, he promised his friends to buy a round of beers at one of the nearby bars.
“We both looked at each other and said, ‘That’s our number.’ We’ve been playing it for a while now, and when she called her name, I’m like, ‘Holy crap. This is it. We just got it,'” Tony Loveland said.
“I love this for downtown Mansfield because … with the construction and everything else that’s going on and bringing this business downtown has been amazing. I’m glad that all the businesses are profiting from this,” Tony Loveland said.
Brandy Loveland is the assistant material warehouse manager at Charter Next Generation. She and her husband have participated in the drawing since City Grille owner Melissa Lawrence started it five years ago.
Brandy Loveland will take home 90 percent of the total pot, after taxes. The remaining 10 percent and money from ticket sales over the last two weeks will fund the 2026 Queen of Hearts starting pot.
That pot will start at $259,670 and the first drawing will be March 1, Lawrence said.
