Lisle G. Liston, 79, of Ashland passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon, November 25, 2025 in University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born on June 28, 1946 in Ashland the son of the late Carroll A. and Vera Pauline (nee Lucas) Liston.

Lisle graduated from Mapleton High School, Class of 1964. Following his graduation, he took courses in Mansfield for carpentry. In 1964, Lisle who was a strong supporter of patriotism proudly joined the Ohio National Guard and served for more than 23 years and retired as a first sergeant. He made many lifetime friends while serving. It was his love of country and his comrades that he donated annually to the Wounded Warrior Project, a philanthropic organization that was near and dear to his heart.

He married the love of his life, the former Linda Kreis on May 21, 1966, and made Ashland their home.

Lisle retired after more than 30 years from Imhoff Construction Services in Orrville where he was Vice President. When he wasn’t working, Lisle was putting his skills to the test by helping others in need.

He was a lifetime member of the Ashland Elks #1360, served as the Vice President of the 148th Infantry annual reunion committee, the Wayne County Builders Exchange, and the Wayne County Corvette Club. Throughout his life, he enjoyed woodworking, attending car shows with his 1971, 1984, and 2008 Corvettes, traveling on cruises, vacationing to Las Vegas with friends, and wintering in North Fort Myers, Florida during his retirement years. Most of all he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. They were the greatest joy of all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mrs. Linda Liston of Ashland; one son, Scott M. (Kelly McQuillen) Liston of Ashland; two grandchildren, Trace and Kendall Myers; one sister, Patricia Gribben of Ashland; his niece, Connie S. Ayer; his nephew, Gary (Brooke) Gribben; great nieces, Brooke Trine, Brynli Ayer; a sister-in-law, Debra Kreis; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Betsy Simmons) Kreis of Ashland; his grand dogs, Jagger and Ollie; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Lisle is preceded in death by Linda’s parents, Wayne F. And Marjorie Kreis; and two brothers-in-laws, Gerald Gribben and David Kreis.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Namy presiding. The Ashland Veterans Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. A meal and time of fellowship will follow the service in the Legacy Room at the funeral home. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. where the Elk’s will have a service at the conclusion of the visitation. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
