MANSFIELD – The City of Mansfield has announced a generous donation of $65,208.15 presented by Dave Damron in support of the Fox Glen Park trail paving project.

Last year, a fundraising goal of $60,000 was set to be reached by Nov. 1, 2025.

“Thanks to Dave’s leadership and the community’s generosity, that goal was not only met but exceeded by more than $5,200,” mayor Jodie Perry stated in a press release.

“Dave chaired and spearheaded the fundraising campaign in partnership with the Richland Community Development Group (RCDG), designing outreach materials and securing donations to make the project possible.”

The next step will be for the City Council to pass legislation formally accepting the funding and including the trail paving in the 2026 paving bid.

Preparations are already underway to address drainage and tree removal before paving begins in summer 2026.

“This is a tremendous example of what can be accomplished when our community comes together,” said Louis Andres, Public Works Director.

“The Fox Glen Trail paving project will enhance recreation opportunities and ensure residents have safe, accessible spaces to enjoy for years to come.”
