SHELBY — The Shelby Area Democratic Club is planning a food drive this weekend to help stock the shelves at the city’s FISH food pantry.
“Food pantries always face increased pressure during the holiday season, so we decided to have a food drive coinciding with the Christmas kickoff this weekend in downtown Shelby,” said drive coordinator Morgan Carroll.
Non-perishable food items will be collected at the Christmas tree lighting on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Park, across from Black Fork Commons. Club members will also be picking up donations.
