Bret Eugene Hinaman, 67, of Willard, OH took his last breath on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.

Bret was born February 19, 1958, to Robert and Blanche Hinaman in Marion, OH and was a 1977 graduate of Shelby High School. He had enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served our country from 1977 until 1980. After being discharged from the army, Bret began his career driving semi-trucks over the road. He owned and operated trucking company, “Hinaman Hauling” beginning in 2001. After a dedicated 37 years to driving truck, Bret retired in 2017.

In 1997, Bret met the love of his life, Terri Whaley at the First Baptist Church in Ashland, OH. They then married on April 3, 1999, and spent 26 cherished years together. When married, they lovingly combined their families. Bret brought one son and one daughter to the marriage, and Terri brought one daughter. Together they embraced all the blessings and challenges of a blended family life. They created a home filled with acceptance, laughter and unwavering support.

Bret and Terri made their lives revolve around the church and always lived by God’s word. He would minister while over the road to fellow truck drivers across the country. While at home, he would teach and help with the children’s ministry. Bret had been the Junior Church and Kings Kids Leader while his children were growing up at the First Baptist Church. He also was currently the game leader for the Awana Program at the Shelby Christian Alliance Church, where he resided as a home Church.

He is survived by his wife Terri Hinaman; daughters Michelle (Chris) Lester, Lauren Hinaman; son Robert (Maggie) Hinaman; numerous nieces and nephews; and three siblings, Pam Milligan, Robin (Mel) Hinaman, Chuck (Marsha) Hinaman. Most important, his grandchildren, whom he loved being a “Papaw” too; Sophia, Evan, Autumn, Carson, David and Tommy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Rick Whaley and Don Milligan.

No funeral services will be held at this time. A celebration of Bret’s life will be held at the family with times to be provided at a later date.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Shelby Christian: Missionary Alliance Church at 105 E. Smiley Ave, Shelby, OH 44875.
