Mark A. Thomas, age 47 of Crestline, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Avita Health System – Galion Hospital. He was born on January 1, 1978, in Shelby to Carl and Diana (Jones) Thomas.

Mark graduated from Crestline High School in 1996, and he went on to work for Gorman-Rupp for 22 years. He was a fan of The Ohio State University, the Browns, and the Guardians. He was the kind of man who lit up any room he entered, and he was always willing to help those he loved. No matter what kind of day he was having, you would never know. He always found a way to show up and be present. He was the hardest worker and a servant to his community. His children were his ultimate joy, and he gave them both the best childhood imaginable. He was his daughter Madelyn’s coach and biggest supporter both on and off the field, and he and his son Ethan shared many experiences together, playing golf and watching movies together.

Along with being the most supportive father that a kid could want, he was also the undisputed king of dad jokes, and he was a hard worker who took care of his family, friends, and community. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his mother Diana Thomas of Crestline; his children Madelyn Thomas and Ethan Thomas, both of Crestline; his brothers Keith Thomas of Splendora, Texas, and Kevin (Ashley) Thomas of Crestline; and his significant other Tish Alterio.

He was preceded in death by his father Carl Thomas.
