Timothy “Tim” Albert Durdle, 84, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Avita Health System – Galion Hospital. Tim was born on March 7, 1941, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to the late Oral “Buck” and Lottie (Mutton) Durdle.

Tim graduated from Iberia High School in 1960, never knowing that meeting Ruth there would be the start of a beautiful lifelong story. They married in 1963 and shared a total of 69 years of deep, enduring love that touched everyone who knew them.

He spent many years working and traveling with North Electric Company. He later worked with the United Telephone Company. Tim eventually retired from Shafer Valve (now Emerson), where he demonstrated unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic throughout his career.

Tim was a devoted Ohio State fan, and some of his happiest memories were the four bowl games he attended hand-in-hand with his beloved wife, Ruth. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his grandchildren race across cross country courses and track lanes-his voice always rising to cheer for them and every Northmor teammate who crossed his path.

He cherished the lifelong friendships he shared with his Iberia High School Class of 1960, especially the laughter-filled cruises that created stories told for years. Tim had a sweet tooth for oatmeal raisin cookies and ice cream, treats he loved most when sharing them with those he cared about. He delighted in swapping hunting stories with his grandchildren, each one becoming a treasure of its own.

Tim found deep fulfillment in working on their small farm, spending peaceful hours cutting wood, cleaning fence rows, and tending to the land he loved. After retiring, he embraced the quiet joy and steady rhythm of farm life-where he felt truly at home.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruth; his daughters, Becky Simpson and Dee (Troy) Yunker; his beloved grandchildren, Riley Yunker and Owen Yunker; Riley’s fiancé, Cole Jordan; and his brother, Pat Durdle.

Along with his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Durdle; his sister-in-law, Linda Durdle; and his son-in-law, Jamie Simpson.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Church, 7197 County Road 46, Mt. Gilead, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A short ceremony will take place during this time. Burial will be at Iberia Cemetery.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to the Northmor Athletic Boosters C/O Cross Country and Track Programs.
