John David Duffy, age 70, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on November 11, 2025, due to complications following a four-year battle with ALS.

He was born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, on March 17, 1955, to Milton and Ruth Duffy. John graduated from Aiken High School in 1973 and from the University of Cincinnati in 1982, earning degrees in Information Systems and Accounting. He enjoyed a long career as a software engineer, working for United Telephone, Sprint, and Century Link, before retiring from Ohio Mutual Insurance Group in 2021.

John moved to Mansfield in 1982, where he met his wife, Gwendolyn, the following year. They married in 1987 and made Mansfield their home.

He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn, and their children, Erin and Ian; siblings Janet, Donald (Consuelo), Bill (Tessie), Joe (Yuphak), and David Duffy; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Ruth, and brothers Bobby and Brion.

A memorial celebration will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio.
