Carolyn Elaine Crawford Ruhlman, 83 of Ashland passed from this life on Monday evening, October 27, 2025, in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.
Elaine was born on April 11, 1942 in Ashland, Ohio the daughter of the late Leonard and Madelyn (nee Grindle) Danner.
She graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1960. Elaine furthered her education and graduated from Mansfield Beauty School.
Carolyn worked as a beautician at Betty’s Beauty Spot for many years. She married her first love, Ronald Crawford. Together they adopted a son, Mark. Elaine and Ron later divorced.
She remarried on March 20, 1975 to Paul Ruhlman who precedes her.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed her home, gardening, doing many crafts and working jig saw puzzles, but most of all spending time with her family.
Elaine is survived by her first husband and loving life partner, Ronald Crawford of Ashland; one sister, Ann Bonesteel of Ashland; her three granddaughters, Lauren Blair, Kristen Crawford, Madelyn (Jobe) Ream; great granddaughter, Olivia Ream; and many nieces and nephews.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Danner and Madelyn Drake; one son, Mark Crawford; her husband of 38 years, Paul; one brother, Gary (Margaret) Danner; and two nephews, Stephen Reynolds and Matthew Kelly.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Eric Abel presiding. Following the service a meal and time of fellowship will be in the Legacy Room at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park. Family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
