Edward “Ed” Lee Blocker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the age of 73. He was born in Crestline on January 25, 1952, to the late George and Rosemary (Armstrong) Blocker. He married Suzanne (Cahalin) Blocker on November 14, 1981, and she survives him in Crestline.

Ed was a proud graduate of Crestline High School, Class of 1970. He dedicated his career to General Motors as a skilled tool and die maker and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed stateside. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career; he served as the President of the Crestline Library for many years, fostering a love for reading in his community.

Ed was known for his deep love of the outdoors, often found fishing or enjoying nature. He had an insatiable appetite for literature and was rarely seen without a book in hand. Above all, his family was his greatest joy; he cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, always ready to lend a hand—whether it was fixing things around the neighborhood or repairing bikes for the local kids. Ed exemplified the values of kindness, forgiveness, and compassion, which he affectionately referred to as “KFC.”

In addition to his loving spouse, Ed is survived by his two sons, Jason (Shannon) Blocker, of New Philadelphia, Justin (Renee) Blocker, of Bucyrus, his five grandchildren; Finnegan, Henry, Ivy, Kabe, Aerie, and his two brothers, Donald (Sue) Blocker of Mt. Gilead, and George (Karen) Blocker of Centerburg.

In accordance with Ed’s wishes, he will be cremated, with his remains to be respectfully placed at in Crawford County Memory Gardens at a later date.
