SHELBY — The Shelby FFA has continued to stay busy this fall.
On Oct. 8, the Shelby FFA hosted a chapter meeting with an impressive turnout of roughly 100 members in attendance. After the meeting concluded, the members loaded onto a bus and traveled to J&J Rietschlin Farm to experience their annual Field of Screams.

The group made their way through all the spooky fun the event had to offer. Once the scary adventures wrapped up, everyone gathered around the fire to relax.
Members finished the evening with classic fall treats, roasting s’mores and hot dogs over the fire before heading back. The Shelby FFA extends a special thank you to the Rietschlin family for hosting the event and providing such a memorable experience.
On Oct. 10, the Shelby FFA proudly took part in a community service project called Harvest Heroes. It has been done in the past, but the chapter took it to a larger scale with a better name this year.
Twelve members spent the day traveling to Crestline’s Sunrise Cooperative and several local farms to brighten the day of hardworking farmers. They delivered a total of 25 buckets packed with goodies and meals to the busy workers.
The farmers were thankful for the surprise and the members enjoyed contributing during such an important time of year. The event was a fun and meaningful way for the chapter to give back to its agricultural community.
