Burton D. Garrett, age 92, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2025, at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby, surrounded by his loving family.
Burton was born on October 9, 2025, in Shiloh to the late Friend Wiley and Edna V. (Morrison) Garrett. He graduated from Shiloh High School in the class of 1950. Following high school, Burton joined the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. After his time in the service, he was a supervisor for numerous years before retiring with the United States Postal Service in Mansfield, Ohio.
A member of Crossroads Church in Mansfield. He played his guitar and piano while singing many songs. Also, he was an avid golfer and played in the Senior Golf League at Woody Ridge. In his younger years, he traveled with his wife, Bonnie, to different destinations. He loved spending time with his nephews family during the holidays and his grand kids loved him.
He is survived by his daughter Kathleen (Vince) Amato of Shelby; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and countless other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie D. Garrett, in 2000 and two sons, Terry and Lawrence Garrett.
Private family services will be held with an interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
