NORTH ROBINSON — The Colonel Crawford defense registered its first shutout of the season and a big third quarter proved decisive as the Eagles soared past Bucyrus 48-0 on Friday night.
Connor McMichael ran for 169 yards and three touchdowns on just 12 carries to lead C.C.’s offense.
McMichael’s 10-yard run in the first quarter gave the hosts a 6-0 edge.
Roen Thew dashed 20 yards for a score in the second period, and Peyton Baker tossed a 17-yard touchdown pass to Parker Weithman for a 20-0 halftime advantage.
McMichael’s dazzling 66-yard sprint in the third quarter kicked off an offensive spree. Thew reached the end zone on an 11-yard run and McMichael tacked on another 26-yard jaunt to push the advantage to 41-0.
Avery Powers roared to a 48-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to finish it.
The Eagles’ defense allowed just 27 yards rushing in pitching the shutout.
Colonel Crawford improved to 6-0 overall, 3-0 in the Northern 10, and will welcome Seneca East to town on Friday night.
Bucyrus falls to 1-5, 0-3 and hosts Upper Sandusky next week.
