MANSFIELD — Mayor Jodie Perry and the City of Mansfield Shade Tree Commission are hosting an educational “townhall” style public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the North Lake Park pavilion.

In their ongoing commitment to providing service and educational opportunities to the residents of Mansfield, the members of the Shade Tree Commission are pleased to offer this free, educational and celebratory session.

The theme for the evening is “Celebrating 30 Years of Walking & Growing Together,” which will take attendees through 30 years of the City of Mansfield being designated as a Tree City USA and to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the B&O Bike Trail.

A special tree planting is planned for the evening.

The agenda for the evening and guest speakers include:

— Mayor Jodie Perry

— Former Mayor Lydia Reid (via a video recording)

— Jordan Tackett, executive director of the Richland County Park District

— Josh Steffen, executive director of Kingwood Center Gardens

— Shade Tree Commission members

The evening will close with participants’ opportunity to “ask the experts in our community.”
