Dorothy Jean Dapper, 93, formerly of Crestline, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Magnolia Terrace, Galion, Ohio.

Dorothy was born in Crestline, on May 13, 1932, to the late Elmer and Mabelle (Winters) Bletz. She married Paul Albert Dapper on September 27, 1952, and he preceded her in death on December 17, 1991.

Dorothy graduated from Crestline High School, Class of 1950. She worked as a secretary for Burch Corporation, Galion Farm Service and Galion Radiology throughout her career. Dorothy was a cherished lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Galion, where she contributed selflessly by assisting with church meals and teaching at Sunday school. Her faith and commitment to her community were evident in everything she did, including volunteering in the gift shop at the Galion Hospital. She enjoyed reading, attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, various bus trips with relatives and celebrating family gatherings, particularly during Christmas and holidays, where her warmth brought everyone together.

She is survived by her loving children, her daughter Paula (Barry) Smith, her two sons, William “Bill” Dapper and Thomas “Tom” (Linda) Dapper. Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love through her five grandchildren: Todd (Christine) Smith, Ryan (Elizabeth) Smith, Michael (Stephanie) Dapper Nicole Dapper, and Jacob (Jessica) Dapper, as well as her nine great-grandchildren: Ethan Smith, Tyler Smith, Claire Smith, Alec Smith, Parker Smith, John Dapper, Spencer Dapper, Preston Dapper and Brayden Dapper. She is also survived by her brother James (Doris) Bletz.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Carlisle Place, Magnolia Terrace, Avita Hospice and Pathways Hospice for their excellent care towards Dorothy and her family.

Friends may call on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM until the time of funeral services at 3:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 291 Union St., Galion, Ohio, with Pastor Jerusha Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Dapper Cemetery, Crestline.
