Carole (Parks) Miller, age 97, of Bellville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. She was born on February 12, 1928 in Mansfield to the late Glenn & Carrie Divelbiss Parks.
Carole grew up on a farm in Bellville. She was taught hard work and how to live off the land; both attributes she passed along to her children. As a proud homemaker, her focus was on her family. She canned her own vegetables, she loved gardening and being at home doing jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and reading. Making homemade pies and butter were just some of the things she enjoyed making for her family. Carole was an animal lover, especially her beloved Pomeranian, Rocky. She was known locally as the lady who would patch the holes in your jeans so you didn’t have to throw them away. Her family has fond memories of her doing farm chores and singing loudly, making sure everyone would hear her. Her memory was ironclad which allowed her to remember important facts, dates and even dates that no one else would be able to remember. Above all else, Carole valued her family and loved spending all of her time making sure everyone was taken care of.
Carole will be fondly remembered by her six children, Gary A. (Evelyn) Miller of Bellville, Thomas W. (Phyllis) Miller of Bellville, Robert L. (Susan) Miller of Bellville, Linda Bender of Fredericktown, Karen (Doug) Darr of Bellville, Pamela Bryant of Bellville; she also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; her special niece, Jean Johnson of Allen Park, Michigan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Emmett Miller; two sisters, Leola Radtke and Margaret Bayles; two sons-in-law, Ralph Bender and Mike Bryant; her precious great- granddaughter, Alaina Darr.
A service to honor Carole’s life will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, September 22, 2025 in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Eikler officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
