Jerry Lin Ernsberger, 59, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025, at his home. Jerry was born on September 24, 1965, to the late parents of Jack and Brenda (Thompson) Mason.
Jerry loved taking his dog Jack to the lake, spending just a weekend or the whole week. While at the lake, he enjoyed hanging out at the islands or just fishing.
He had a love for dirt track races, either at Attica or Fremont. Jerry especially enjoyed the races when his son was racing; he was a proud dad standing at the fence yelling and cheering him on. His love for the outdoors and racing showed through when he shared it with his grandchildren. Jerry looked forward to taking them to the lake to fish or taking them to the track. When go-kart racing with his grandchildren, he was always the winner, even if he had bumped them around a little bit, and after asking an employee for the fastest go-kart.
Spending time with his family was very important to Jerry. He spent many years in the construction field running equipment. The last several years were spent working with his son, helping him build his business.
There was not a thing that he could not figure out. If he could not find what he needed, he would make it. He loved working in the shop, either it was working on vehicles, equipment, or woodworking.
Left to cherish Jerry’s memories are his son Jeremy (Alasha) Ernsberger, grandchildren, Rael and Jackson Ernsberger, girlfriend Angie Kemle, sister Cassie Colvin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with Jerry’s parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Ernsberger, and brother, James “Jim” Ernsberger.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Gompf Funeral Service, Galion Chapel, 303 Portland Way North, Galion.
