Jacqueline Mathison, age 69, of Galion passed away Thursday August 28, 2025 at Avita Galion Hospital.

Born June 19, 1956 in Dayton, she was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Nickel) Houseman. She married Jeffrey Mathison on December 24, 1985 and he survives.

Jacqueline was a member of Diamond Hills Cathedral and taught Sunday school there for 30 years. She worked as an insurance agent for Carrier Insurance in Galion for 20 years. She was an avid gardener planting flowers and herbs and was member of the Pavonia Garden Club. She also enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling to the beach with her family, going to plays at the theater and playing the harp. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for 7 years. She liked to try new things and was always willing to help people.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter: Ariel Mathison, mother Dorothy Houseman, sisters: Debra (Robert) Wicker and Sandra Enlow, sister-in-law Sharon Barnes, brother-in-law Dave Mathison, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her special friend Eva Heckert.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Houseman, daughter Jessica Mathison, brother Bobby Houseman mother-in-law and father-in-law Eber and Bertha Mathison, brothers-in-law Gary and Kenny Mathison and a sister-in-law Pamela Satonik.

The family will have a memorial gathering from 12:30 – 1:00 PM Saturday September 13, 2025 with a celebration of life to follow at 1:00 PM at Diamond Hills Cathedral 500 Tingley Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio. .
