LUCAS — Perfect is a bad word to use in Week 1 of the high school football season.
But it would be tough for Lucas coach Jim Sweat to find much to criticize after his Cubs overwhelmed Plymouth 51-0 on Friday night in the lidlifter for both schools.
Senior Tim Daley ripped off 122 yards and three touchdowns in just 10 carries. Junior Brady Guegold added 104 yards and another TD on only nine attempts as Lucas hammered away at its Richland County foe.
Next week, the Cubs travel to Hillsdale, a 42-14 winner over Black River on Friday night. Plymouth hosts Willard for its home opener on Friday night.
