Mary Victoria Carpenter, age 71, of Mansfield passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1954, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Mary Jo (Brown) and Curtis Wayne Carpenter. Mary was the first woman electrician in the state of Ohio and retired after 30 years of service. She had a soft heart for dogs, especially boxers, rescuing and caring for them deeply. She relaxed by working in her flower beds and garden.
Mary is survived by two children, Donnie (Connie) Melton and Nate Melton; twelve grandchildren, Brendon Melton, Cassie (Stephen) Shafer, Kali Jo Melton, Brittany (Seth) Coey, Baylee Deemer, Heather (Eric) Fout, Gabe and Josh Scherger, Dylan, Drew, Addie and Lila Melton; ten great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Curt (Karen) Carpenter and Steve (Nikki) Carpenter.
Private graveside services will be observed. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
