It is with a heavy heart that we share that Sharon Richards passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2025 at the OSU Medical Center from complications from a lung disease.

Sharon was born in Mansfield, Ohio on March 5, 1963 to George and Suzanne (Daisley) Stevens. As a child, her parents instilled the value of a high work ethic. Sharon was a senior underwriter at Western Reserve Insurance for 28 years. Prior to that, she was employed at Kemper Insurance for 15 years. She had established many long-term relationships with her work family and clients and truly loved what she did.

Sharon was very charismatic, loving, and thoughtful often sending cards to comfort others.
HSN and QVC were two of her favorite TV shows which was the source of many purchases for here decorating passion. Christmas was her favorite holiday displaying nine Christmas trees and many, many decorations. Some of the trees remain up year round changing decorations for many other holidays.

Sharon loved her rides to Amish country with her husband Art and her dog, Hudson. They also loved taking trips to Lake Erie. She had a soft spot for all animals. She was a suppressed artist always aspiring to be a painter and has the art supplies to prove that. She was an avid reader and never turned away a good mystery. She attended both St. Mary’s and St. Peter’ Catholic Church.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband and soulmate Art Richards, with whom she spent over twenty-five incredible years making many special memories; by her mother, Suzanne Stevens; sister Linda Stevens; brother Donald (Linda Melton) Stevens; her aunt Diane Faulkner; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Stevens; brother, Gary Stevens; and grandparents Steve and Laura Stevens, and Peg and Bill Daisley; and her beloved dog, Rudy.

Private family services and burial will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Richland County Dog Pound or Humane Society.
