MANSFIELD — The parking lot at Kingwood Center Gardens was packed early Sunday afternoon for Family Day.

The popular horticulture culture site offered free admission Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering fun activities, lawn games and plenty of opportunities to make family memories.

During the event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., guests could enjoy time together in the beautiful gardens at their peak, horticultural activities, art stations, yard games, learning centers with community partners and food trucks.

After 4 p.m., guests were welcome to stay and continue to enjoy the gardens.

Kingwood Center Gardens is renowned for its distinctive floral displays, unique plant specimens, woodland trails, historic mansion and gardens, display greenhouse, duck pond and peacocks. 

Partners at the event included Richland County Master Gardeners, Buckeye Imagination Museum, Mansfield-Richland County Public Library, Richland Soil and Water Conservation District and Budokai Martial Arts.

Event sponsors included Brightspeed, The Tree Guy and the Animal Medical Center of Ohio.
