SHILOH — Nonprofit Vitalant urges all eligible donors to take an hour to give blood amidst the August hustle of summer fun and back-to-school activities.
That’s all the time it takes to help ensure a readily available blood supply so patients don’t face treatment delays.
All donors who give Aug. 1 to 28 and are opted in to Vitalant Donor Rewards will get a $10 gift card and a chance to win one of three $10,000 gift cards in the Summer Gas Giveaway.*
Donors of all blood types are vital to helping patients, especially those with type O and platelet donors.
Type O donors can help most patients in emergencies. Platelet donors are also in high demand. Platelets are often used to help cancer patients and are critical in stopping bleeding.
