Ronald “Butch” E. Tipul, 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Park Ridge, IL, after a very brief period of a very aggressive form of cancer just past his birthday.

Ron was born in Mansfield, OH on July 2, 1937 to Agnes Helen (Kleshniski) Tipul and Peter Tipul. He was a 1955 graduate of St. Peter’s High School, where he was known as the “Boss Tweed”. He graduated from John Carroll University in 1959 with an Accounting degree. He then went into the Army and retired as a Captain in the National Transportation Division. After leaving the Army, he started his Accounting career with Pete Marwick Mitchell in Chicago then moved to Gallaher & Speck (Chicago), where he retired as CEO/President & owner. Ron enjoyed traveling, playing cards, Opera, collecting keys, spending time at his place in Longboat Key, FL and spending time with Family & friends.

Survivors include a very special lifelong friend & caregiver of many years Mike Desanto; sister Rita Tipul Day; nieces: Marsha Tipul Sigg (Al), Dianne Day Sutter (David); nephews, Douglas Day, Jeffrey Day, Peter Day, Daniel Day (Taryn), Collette Day, Thomas (TJ) Tipul (Shelly); many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Esther Tipul, Margaret Tipul, Marilyn Tipul, Loretta (Tipul) Hoff; brother-in-law John; brothers Vincent Tipul, (Virginia), Robert Tipul, Thomas Tipul, (Vivian); brother-in-law Kenneth Day; nephew Steven Day.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on August 8, 2025 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 60 S Mulberry St. Calling hours will be an hour prior to the mass. Burial will follow at Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
