Amy Calendine Arnett passed away July 29th, 2025 surrounded by her family, after bravely battling breast cancer.

Amy was born March 19, 1951 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Nelson and Kathryn (Tucker) Calendine. Being the youngest of many siblings led to Amy being blessed to be an Aunt to innumerable nieces & nephews.

She moved from Wisconsin to Lexington, Ohio in 1954, and graduated from Lexington High School in 1969. Amy remained close with so many from her graduating class. They were very special to her, and their friendship was something she treasured.

Amy dedicated her life to caring for others, first as an emergency room nurse for 15 years and later as a nursing instructor at North Central State College, where she inspired countless students to enter the profession she loved so deeply. Her compassion and calm strength touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

She was a fun & loving mother to her kids: Jared (Gretchen) Welsh and Katie (Brandon) Cramer. The true loves of her life were her grandchildren- Henry and Ben Welsh of Columbus, and Lucy, Phoebe, and Eloise Cramer of Myrtle Beach. Nothing brought her more joy or made her laugh more than hearing stories of her grandkids being ornery. She spoiled them rotten & was sure to send them each a card for every single holiday- never forgetting to include a treat with each card. Amy was a lot of things in this life- Mother, Daughter, Sister, Teacher, Nurse, Friend- but if you asked her what her favorite title was, it would definitely be Nana. She loved baking in the kitchen, watching Hallmark movies, and spending time and sharing laughs with her family, friends, kids and grandkids.

She is also survived by her sisters Sylvia Wheeler of Phoenix, Diane Winemiller of Mansfield, and Nancy (Myron) Hamilton of Lexington. She will also be remembered by her many nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 20, 2025 from 1-3 pm at the Lexington Senior Center. Please feel free to bring any photos or special memories of Amy you might like to share with her kids and grandkids. In lieu of flowers, Amy has asked that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
