BUTLER: Christina “Tina” Helen (Bare) Mears passed away peacefully after an extended illness on July 20, 2025 at Sycamore Run in Millersburg, Ohio.

She was born on October 6, 1948 in Mansfield, Ohio the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Elizabeth (Hallabrin) Bare. Growing up in the area Tina graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and worked at Therm-O-Disc for many years until her retirement.

On April 9, 2005 she married Michael Mears in Mansfield, Ohio, together they shared 20 years of memories.

Tina lived a vibrant and passionate life, always embracing adventure and the simple joys of each day. She found freedom and excitement in riding motorcycles, and took great pride in earning her motorcycle license. Whether she was tending to her garden, exploring new places, or relaxing by the ocean, Tina cherished every moment spent in nature. Her proudest accomplishments included being a spirited cheerleader for the Mansfield Senior High Tigers, raising her three beloved sons, and being an active, loving presence in the lives of her grandchildren. Tina’s strong and open heart touched everyone who knew her. She had a deep love for animals, an infectious energy, and an unwavering devotion to her family—especially dancing and singing to the oldies (her favorite being Elivis) with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

She is survived by her husband Mike Mears. Children Mark Police, Matt (Kyann) Police, and Michael Police. Siblings Janie (Jim) Wendling and Ted E. (Jaenine) Bare. Step-daughters Beth (Andy) Linegang and Brianne (Jason) McFarland. Grandchildren Bailey, Gwen, Jordan, and Isaiah Police, Mohamed, Amal, and Adna Ali. Step-grandchildren Patrick, Owen, and Kate Linegang, and Jacob and Cameron McFarland. Great-grandchildren Emma, Sudais, Sahayb, Subeer, Suhaila, Sabir, Riyaaq, Amal, and Iqra. Close friends Tony Police, Brenda Graver, Nancy Cicolani, and Olga Brinley. Precious furbaby and faithful companion Max, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Tina is preceded in death by her daughter Tracy Police, and beloved pets Hochie and Maize.

Friends may visit from 3-5 pm on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Bellville Chapel. A funeral celebrating Tina’s life will begin immediately after. Pastor Tom Crank will speak.

Memorial contributions can be made in Tina’s honor to the Richland County Humane Society.
