MANSFIELD: Paulette Louise Jaynes, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was 77.
She was born on December 2, 1947 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Paul and Louise (Kudika) Young. Paulette lived in the area for her entire life and was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School.
On April 16, 1966 she married the love of her life, Robert Jaynes, and the couple shared 55 wonderful years together until his passing in 2021. For the last four years Paulette has deeply missed her husband, and the family takes comfort in knowing they are joyfully reunited together once again.
Paulette lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She cherished playing cards with her sister, was an avid reader, and had a sweet tooth for red and blue Icee popsicles and her favorite ice creams. Her love for life extended to caring for her many potted plants, which she tended to with the same devotion she gave her family. Deeply family-oriented, Paulette found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially during the holidays. These gatherings were her favorite times of year, when she could spoil her loved ones with her famous Buckeyes and create lasting memories. Known for her warm smile and wonderful sense of humor, which she maintained even in her final days, Paulette welcomed everyone with open arms and a kind heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children Lora (Steve) Keller, Robin (Wes) Shafer, and Bobette (John Cummins) Jaynes, grandchildren Stevie (Cassie) Keller, Kylee Keller, Toby Keller, Chance (Ariel) Gough, Chase (Cassie) Gough, Dylan Shafer, Ellyse (Nathan) Simpson, Kent (Suzy) Fackelman, and Nick (Ashley) Fackelman, 17 great-grandchildren, sister Shirley Barber, brother Paul “Butch” (Kathi) Young, as well as numerous extended family members.
In addition to her husband, Paulette is preceded in death by her parents and sister Sondra Mclaughlin.
At this time, Paulette will be celebrated privately by her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Compassus Hospice or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
