It is with great sadness to announce that John A. Fuhrer, age 63 of Mansfield, Ohio, died on July 17, 2025, following an extended illness. On February 8, 1962, he was born in Mansfield to John and Jeannie (Baker) Fuhrer.
He is survived by his mother, Jeannie Fuhrer; sister, Susie and Jim Martin; and brother, David and Laura Fuhrer.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Fuhrer; sister, Shannon Holloway; nephew, Kevin Fuhrer; and grandparents, John and Mary Fuhrer, Wreta and Cliff Lincoln and Henry Baker.
He was raised on a farm in Morrow County and attended Northmor High School, where he often stole his sister’s homework because they were in the same grade.
He worked at his parent’s machine shop in South Carolina. After moving back to Ohio he worked at Therm-O-Disc and Richland Screw Machine. He also did a lot of odd jobs for friends.
John was truly a unique person with an unmistakable laugh and beautiful blue eyes with a smile to match. He loved God. He certainly was a bit ornery and had many stories and certainly lived life with gusto, and never seemed to worry about too many things. He loved with all his heart and was so unselfish. If he only had two shirts, he would without hesitation, give you one. He was always so sincerely happy for other people‘s happiness, celebrations and good fortune, even in the midst of his physical limitations, failing health and other struggles. You would NEVER hear him complain.
The family would like to thank JAG Healthcare staff, and Pathway Hospice Care.
There will be no Services. But if you would like to make a contribution, I’m sure John would appreciate it if you were to donate to a local homeless shelter.
So until we meet again, we would like to end it with something John would say so many times after a phone call or visit – “PEACE OUT.”
