Aaron David “Gump” Gundrum, age 45, of Shelby, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 21, 2025.
Born July 11, 1980 in Shelby, Aaron graduated from Crestline High School. Gump was a larger-than-life person with a big personality whose presence was always known. He loved being on the road driving and traveling, enjoyed going to casinos, and was a huge University of Michigan fan. He was a member of the Shelby Eagles.
Aaron is survived by his wife, Stephanie Michelle (Booth) Gundrum; daughter: Ariella Marie (Malick) Sene of Pensacola, FL; son: Trevor McGuire of Shelby; his mother who he was devoted to helping and caring for: Debra Lynn (Mollett) Henderson (Ken Straw) of Shelby; father: Daryl (Amy) Gundrum of Shelby; brother: Daryl (Coleena) Gundrum, Jr. of Crestline; sister: Jennifer Henderson (Spencer Studer) of Bucyrus; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives, and friends.
Aaron was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Frank and Mary Mollett; paternal grandparents: John and Evelyn Gundrum; mother-in-law: Vesta McDaniel; sister-in-law: Marguerite West; and aunt: Carol Wertz.
Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 2-4 pm at the Penwell Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Please, come as you are in casual dress. Graveside services and burial will be on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 10:30 am at Mansfield Cemetery, 389 Altamont Avenue, Mansfield, OH 44902.
