Ronald Dean Northover, age 92, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, following a long illness.

He was born April 1, 1933, in Dearborn Heights, MI to the late Hally Northover and Mary Lucille (Griffin) Higdon. Being born on April Fool’s Day, he was a natural jokester who enjoyed spending time with his family. Ronald repaired gas tanks and radiators and would try to build or modify things to work with whatever project he needed them for. He was a good sewer and would often repair sewing machines. As a regular at Mansfield Restaurant, he would spoil the employees with candy and mints. Ronald was a Ham Radio operator and would set up his own radio towers. He enjoyed motorcycles and fishing, especially at Charles Mill. He was a religious man and later in life started attending and serving at Sar Shalom, as a chaplain and making hospital visits.

Ronald is survived by his five children: Pamela Northover, Brenda Isaac, Dennis Northover, Carrie (Dan) Northover, and Mary (David) Fultz; grandchildren: Eric (Sue) Northover, James Smith, Matt Smith, Brittany (Christopher) Holmes, Dennis Northover, Jr., Marty (Tessa) Isaac. Allen (Tana) Isaac, Frank (Stacie) Isaac, Phillip (Kristy) Isaac, Justin Ernsberger, Jasmine (Andy) Jones, Andrew (Christy McGuire) Fultz, Shaina (David) Blanton, Cory Fultz, Kendalynn Fultz, and Talya Fultz; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife and friend, Marjorie Northover; granddaughter, Mary Isaac; son-in-law, Jeff Ernsberger; daughter-in-law, Sharon Northover; and great-granddaughter, Alyssa Renee Isaac.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
