MANSFIELD — An outdoor music festival can be a daunting environment.
There’s lots to consider, like the festival layout, parking and the different terrains concertgoers may encounter. But each of the 30,000 daily attendees the Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival brings in deserves the chance to enjoy their experience.
According to the festival’s website, Danny Wimmer Presents — the Los Angeles company that runs Inkcarceration — “is committed to making every effort” so that its festivals are accessible to its fans.
Inkcarceration partnered this year with All in Events — an organization which works with live event organizers to create inclusive experiences — to run the festival’s access program.
Near the festival’s accessible parking lot (Red Lot) is the Access Center, just inside the entrance of the Ohio State Reformatory grounds.
Inside the center is trained staff from All in Events, available to answer all questions, provide wristbands for viewing platforms and connect people with additional services.

What accessibility services are offered?
Festival grounds at Inkcarceration are situated on a combination of concrete, asphalt and natural terrain.
An elevated viewing area is provided at the main stages for fans with mobility disabilities.
Additional accessibility services provided to fans include:

- An access lane for fans with disabilities at the gate.
- Accessible points of service at food, merch and customer service locations.
- Accessible viewing areas and accessible viewing platforms for fans who use mobility devices.
- Accessible restrooms within the Ohio State Reformatory.
- Accessible portable restrooms.
- Inclusive schedules and information, including braille, large print and dyslexic friendly.
- American Sign Language interpreters
All in Events also provides a space for patrons who are neurodivergent. It is an area that is low-stimulus, allowing fans to take a moment to find balance before rejoining the action at Inkcarceration.
Manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs and three or four-wheeled scooters are allowed for use only by fans with mobility disabilities. There is mobility device charging available at the Access Center.
Service animals are allowed, but not emotional support or therapy animals. Information to differentiate these types of animals can be found on the festivals website.
Inkcarceration also offers accessible camping for festivalgoers, which includes accessible showers and portable restrooms.
