Rita Vay Maglott passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025. She was 70.

She was born on March 12, 1955 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late William L. and Opal Bloomfield. Rita attended and graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1973.

On September 20, 1975, Rita married the love of her life, Ronald Maglott, and the couple shared nearly 50 years of life, love, and memories together.

Rita lived a vibrant and generous life, sharing her time and talents with those around her. A devoted member of Journey Life Center, she also gave many years of service as a volunteer at Kingwood Center Gardens and was a proud, longtime member of the Colony Club. Rita found joy in life’s creative and whimsical moments—she was an avid scrapbooker, an enthusiastic amateur clown, and never missed a chance to go all out with holiday decorations, especially on Halloween. She enjoyed spending time working jigsaw puzzles and a deep appreciation for nature, often spending time quietly observing butterflies and hummingbirds. Rita also loved to travel, and some of her most cherished memories were made on special trips with her beloved grandson, Jackson. Her warmth, humor, and joyful spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband Ron Maglott, son Gregory (Julie) Maglott, grandchildren Jacob Nester, Jersey Heffley, Julia Kearney, and Jackson Nester, siblings Roger (Vicki) Bloomfield, Karen Bachelder, and Pamela Bloomfield, sisters-in-law Patricia (Leroy) Wright, LaDonna Addison, and Betty (Donald) Williamson, special friend Becky Sparks, as well as numerous extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her siblings Faye (Anthony) Henderson, Sharon Barker-Price, and William R. Bloomfield, mother and father-in-law Edward R. and Mae Maglott, as well as sisters-in-law Bonnie Maglott and Rose (Bill) Carroll.

The Maglott family will receive guests on Monday, July 21st, 2025 from 11 am to 1:30 pm in the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel. A private family graveside service will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
