Nancy Marie Snyder, age 71, of Butler passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at her home.
Born August 12, 1953, in Norwalk, Nancy was the daughter of Robert Paul Kraft and Mildred Irene (McKain) Kraft. A graduate of Norwalk High School, she also pursued college courses in accounting. From 1971 to 1973, Nancy worked at the 179th Airlift Wing of the Air National Guard, where she met her future husband, Rodney Snyder. Their friendship grew into a lasting love, and the two were married on June 13, 1980.
Nancy was a warm and social person who enjoyed connecting with others. Later she managed the Minuteman Club, a role she embraced for several years, finding joy in the daily interactions and camaraderie.
Later, Nancy spent over a decade as a dedicated bus driver for Clear Fork Schools, where she safely transported students not only to school but to after-school sporting events. She took great pride in the responsibility, treating every child with care and respect.
She and Rod shared a love for travel, often hitting the road in their converted bus for adventures near and far—annual trips to Jamboree in the Hills, visits to Nashville and Niagara Falls, and Christmas light tours at Oglebay with their grandchildren were among her favorites. Her camera was never far from reach, and her home was filled with photographs that captured treasured family memories, both past and present.
Nancy especially cherished her time with her grandchildren, welcoming their summer visits with open arms and spoiling them lovingly. She had a gift for storytelling, often sharing family history and life experiences with humor and heart. Her gentle nature, love for animals—especially her beloved cat, Pumpkin—and her easygoing spirit made her a joy to be around.
Nancy will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. Her kindness, laughter, and stories will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is survived by her children Stacy (Charlie) Corbin and Bobby (Sabrina) Snyder; grandchildrenLogan, Kaitlyn, Blake, Rylan, Kallie Joy, Rynlee, and Rhett; a sister Doreen (Tom) Schaffer; nieces Michelle and Angela along with many extended family and friends
In addition to her parents and husband Rod, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter Holly Marie Snyder and infant brother Robert Kraft.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 5-7 in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.
