LEXINGTON – Richland Public Health has stepped up to the plate — and the court — by officially sponsoring two exciting events hosted by Ohio Social Sports at the 2025 Lexington Blueberry Festival.
Thanks to this partnership, the Home Run Derby (Friday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m.) and Volleyball Court Royale (Saturday, Aug. 16 at 9 a.m.) are now completely free for all participants.
Recently, registration costs ranged from $25 to $35 per person, depending on the event.
This year, Richland Public Health’s sponsorship has eliminated those fees entirely, making it easier than ever for community members to get involved, get moving, and have fun.
This collaboration is part of an ongoing effort between Ohio Social Sports and the Richland Public Health Wellness Committee, which are working together to support the county’s Community Health Improvement Plan.
That plan — developed from Richland’s most recent Community Health Assessment focuses on encouraging active living, healthy engagements, and wellness across all age groups.
“Events like these bring people together and promote healthy activity in ways that are inclusive and exciting,” said Gui Alves, founder of Ohio Social Sports. “We’re proud to partner with Richland Public Health to make these experiences accessible for everyone.”
Registration is open now at www.OhioSocialSports.com. Spots are expected to fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged.
