MANSFIELD — The Music Academy of Karate and Empowerment held its monthly belt test on July 7.
Thirteen students participated, showcasing their skills and earning new belt ranks. This small, but determined, group also sparred, demonstrating their ability to control their punches, kicks, and emotions. Lucas Keinath was promoted to green belt.

As a tradition, any student testing for black belt at the annual MAKE Karate Summer Camp is awarded Student of the Month for July. This year, four young men will be earning their black belts at camp: Adrian Potts, Theo Flanders, Adam Mandour, and Omari Mandour. These four are recognized as Students of the Month for July 2025.
The community is invited to watch them earn their black belts on July 26 from 1 to 5 p.m. at 3814 Bowman St. Road, Shelby.
