Betty Lou Clevenger, 90, of Galion passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehab. She was born on April 24, 1935 to the late Harold and Mildred Landin.
Betty married Cordis Clevenger, Sr., on February 25, 1952 and they spent 64 years together before his passing on October 7, 2016. Betty and Cordis had ten children. One of their children, Jack, needed a kidney transplant at the age of 17, Betty gave him one of hers and saved his life. This selfless gift gave them a very special bond.
Betty and Cordis moved to Texas where they lived for many years and she worked as a distributor for the Brazosport Facts newspaper, a job she loved. They later relocated back to Galion where Betty was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Betty was a member of the American Legion and the Galion Golden Age Center. Her favorite things were tending to her flowers, playing bingo, and of course, spending time with her family.
Left to cherish Betty’s memories are her children: Jack (Linda) Clevenger of Tiro, John Clevenger of Galion, Judy Breault of Galion, Debra (Eric) Guetig of Goshen, KY., Cordis (RoseAnn) Clevenger, Jr. of Galion, Tom (Diane) Clevenger of Galion, Tamara (James) Clayton of Nashville, TN., and Kathleen (Dave) Hursh of Mt.
