Thomas Glenn Lutz, age 83, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born December 18, 1941, in Shelby, Ohio, to George & Dorothy (Stout) Lutz, Tom attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and was a proud graduate of Shelby High School, class of 1959. He went on to attend The Ohio State University and later earned his Associate’s degree in Engineering from Stautzenberger Technical School in Toledo, Ohio.

Hardworking and dedicated, Tom served the City of Mansfield Engineering Department from 1964 – 1968, and continued his career with Richland Engineering Limited until his retirement in 2007. Tom also honorably served his country in the Ohio National Guard for 6 dedicated years from 1964 to 1970, retiring as Staff Sergeant.

On February 17, 1973, Tom married Yvonne Marie Bellevue. Together they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.

Tom played tennis in high school, was on Shelby’s first tennis team, and later enjoyed playing handball, squash, racquetball, and softball – especially during his years at Ohio State. He was a familiar face at the Mansfield Area Y, and he never missed a chance to cheer on his Cleveland teams and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Tom is survived by his wife, Yvonne Marie Bellevue Lutz, and his daughter, Danielle (Greg) Brandes; he had a special place in his heart for his son Joseph Lutz; grandchild Dez Brandes; sister Carol (Dennis) Gates; brother Dave (Carolyn) Lutz; sister-in-law Melissa (Ron) Simmons numerous nieces, nephews and extended family including nieces Jessica Miller, Alexis Sloan and Stephanie Erpelding; nephews Andy Lutz, Gabe Lutz, Jeremy Lutz, Nick Lutz, Adam Simmons and Andy Simmons.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, George & Dorothy (Stout) Lutz, his brother Allen Lutz, and his sister Donna Jean Sloan.

A memorial service honoring Thomas’ life will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home beginning promptly at 12 pm. A time of fellowship will follow the service until 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Thomas’ memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s.
