At Dr. David B. Fox’s chiropractic office, muscle testing and nutritional kits are just as common as spinal adjustments — and often, even more important.
“I don’t adjust anyone until I’ve tested their nutrition first,” Fox said. “That’s where I start — because if their body doesn’t have the right nutrients, the adjustment might not hold, and the problem will come right back.”
Fox, who graduated from Logan Chiropractic college and has been practicing for decades, has developed a unique approach that blends traditional chiropractic techniques with customized nutritional testing. The process, he says, allows him to identify deficiencies or imbalances that may be contributing to a patient’s pain or dysfunction — and then fix them at the root.
Using specialized test kits, Fox performs muscle testing on his patients. Each vial in the kit represents a different organ, toxin or nutritional component.

“When they touch something in the test kit and their muscle goes weak, I know that’s what’s out of balance,” he said. “Then I have them hold the nutritional supplement that corrects it, and their strength comes back.”
This technique, often referred to as applied kinesiology or muscle testing, gives Fox insight into the patient’s internal systems that traditional diagnostics might miss. It also allows for tailored nutritional protocols.
The muscle testing also helps Fox spot subtle imbalances that could block a patient’s ability to heal. If someone’s ‘switched’— meaning their polarity is off — the tests won’t work.
Though chiropractic school offered only a brief introduction to nutrition, Fox’s real education came afterward.
His commitment to nutritional healing has grown ever since. He’s helped patients with everything from autoimmune issues to parasites and hormone imbalances. In one case, he recalled a woman dealing with thyroid and polycystic ovary issues.
He gave her three pages of what to avoid including iodine and certain sugars that would only make her worse.
“For most thyroid problems you’d recommend iodine, but not in her case,” Fox said. That’s why the testing is so important.”
Fox sees most of his nutrition patients weekly at first, tracking their energy levels and progress. He continues to test and adjust every appointment until they have made good progress.
He’s also quick to point out healing isn’t just about adding the right supplements — it’s also about removing what’s harmful.

“If something you’re eating or drinking makes you weak during the test, that’s a problem,” Fox said. “You’ve got to cut it out.”
When Jenny Morris’ daughter was struggling with gut health, she felt at a dead end when she saw her child physically getting worse after taking her to many doctors and trying multiple remedies.
Fox had been a family friend for a long time, so when she reached out for an appointment, she was hoping she was heading in the right direction.
Within a month Morris’ daughter was feeling better than she felt in a long time. After diagnosing the problem, Fox gave her the correct supplements and minimized her pain drastically.
“No one else listens and understands the body naturally like Dr. Fox does,” Morris said. “If you are not feeling well, have been to doctors and want to try something natural, I would give it a chance.”
For Fox, every patient is different, and healing is a puzzle. But over time, he’s learned to trust the body’s responses. Even his own body provides feedback.
“I picked up so many sticks in my yard and my legs were killing me,” he said. “I took a heart health supplement called Cardio Plus, went to bed, and the next day I felt great. That’s what people don’t realize — your body tells you what it needs if you know how to listen.”
That’s exactly what Dr. David Fox aims to do: listen to the body, and help it heal — from the inside out.
Dr. Fox is available for appointments Monday-Wednesday from 9am to 12pm and 1 to 3pm and Saturdays by appointment only from 8 to 11am.
