Patsy Lou Briggs, age 91 of Ashland, passed away at the Elms Retirement Village in Wellington on June 9, 2025.

Born in Ashland on May 2, 1934 the daughter of Milo and Lucille (Cleckner) Thompson she had been a resident of Ashland County all of her life. She had been employed as a nursing assistant with Companions of Ashland until her retirement. Patsy was a member of the Ashland First Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Hayesville High School Class of 1950. She enjoyed bowling and especially enjoyed crocheting and knitting, making blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to do crossword puzzles.

Patsy was married to Charles W. Briggs who preceded her in death on March 21, 1987.

Surviving are five children; Vicky (Dave) Goon of Nankin, William J. (Linda) Briggs of Mansfield, Becky Kershner of Jeromesville, Debra (Wayne) Wolf of Ashland and Mary Francis of Marion.

29 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 33 great great grandchildren also survive. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephew; Melody Boales of Ashland and Greg Thompson of Galion. One sister and two brothers also survive, Carol Icenhour of Ashland , Duane Thompson of Canton and Gaylord Thompson of Ashland.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Ronald and Tery Briggs; grandchildren; Marina Milligan, Michelle Warters, Jennifer Bullock,Wade Wolf and Chrs Gregg. She is also preceded in death by great granddaughters; Kayelyn Milligan, Chevelle Shoup and great great granddaughter, Ava Lemon. Two sisters, three brothers and one son in law also precede her in death; Norma Dickenson, Lawana Roberts, Milo Thompson, Lawrence Thompson, Lamont Thompson and Bob Kershner.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 16, 2025 at the Ashland Church of the Nazarene, 1196 Township Road 1506, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Pastor Dave Landon officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday June 15, 2025 from 2:00pm till 4:00pm at the Heyl Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Ashland Cemetery.
