Melvin Lee Chew Jr., age 88, passed away on June 7, 2025, in Mansfield, Ohio. He was born to Melvin and Louise (Beard) Chew, Sr., on April 2, 1937, in Mansfield, Ohio.
He retired from Columbia Gas after 40 years of service. He enjoyed watching all sports on TV.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Chew; his children, Brian (Carol) Chew, Lori (Charles) Wagner, Mike (Shelly) Chew; step-children Larry (Monica) Caltrider, Chris (Corrie) Caltrider; sister – Pat Lincoln; grandchildren, Kelsey (Matt) George, Mike Chew, Jack Chew, Kaleigh Walsh, Joshua Caltrider, Halle Caltrider, and Katy Caltrider; great grandchildren, Dani Rae George, Remington George, Eloise George, Winsley George, Kylo Walsh, Lillian Caltrider, and Millie Caltrider.
Nieces and nephews, Bob (Bev) Archer, Gail Archer (Bruce) Knoll, Brenda McHenry, Lizzie Ewers, and Anita Kochheiser.
Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Chew, Sr.; mother, Louise Nagel, stepdad, Nick Nagel; sister, Margart Jean-Archer Schafer; granddaughter, Mikayla (Chew) Rice; and nephew, Kevin Archer.
