Neva Mae Brovont, age 96, of Galion passed away Friday May 30, 2025 at Avita Galion Hospital.
Born June 21, 1928 in Hastings, MI., she was the daughter of the late Warren and Georgia (Colvin) Brogan. She married Ernest Brovont at the home of her parents on February 20, 1949 and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2016.
Neva was a member of the former Iberia United Methodist Church. She volunteered with the Morrow Co. Board of Elections for over 50 years and also volunteered with the Iberia PTO. She was a member for over 20 years of the Iberia Tots and Toddlers Mothers Club and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Cardington.
Neva worked in several positions in her younger years starting with a job as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell. Locally, she worked at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home, L & K Restaurant, Cords and Cable in Iberia and United Church Directories. She also served as a salesperson for Avon.
She is survived by her children: Ronald (Wanda) Brovont, Barb (Frank) Hansen, Brian Brovont and Brenda Potter, 29 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Brogan, son Thomas Brovont daughters-in-law Jean Brovont and Terri Brovont, son-in-law Timothy Potter and sister-in-law Doris Brogan.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Saturday June 7, 2025 at Iberia Community Church, 3664 State Route 309, Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery.
