LUCAS – Olivia Brown, a 2025 graduate of Lucas High School and Pioneer Career and Technology, has been selected the recipient of the Lybarger Legacy Scholarship for the 2025 academic year.

This scholarship honors an exceptional senior who embodies academic excellence, leadership, integrity, and a commitment to community service.

“A driven and accomplished student, Olivia has demonstrated a deep passion for healthcare and consistent dedication to her education,” Michael Lybarger stated.

She has completed over 50 hours of community service, is a member of the National Honor Society, and has earned varsity letters in volleyball, basketball, track, and softball.

Brown also served as Secretary for the Lucas High School Class of 2025, received the Director’s Attitude and Quality Performance Award from Pioneer, and was recognized with 2nd Team MBC and District 6 Honorable Mention honors during her senior basketball season.

She plans to attend North Central State College to pursue a degree in Nursing, with the goal to become a Registered Nurse.

“Nurses offer far more than medical care; they provide comfort when fear is overwhelming, guidance when there is uncertainty, and compassion when hope feels out of reach,” Brown said.

“Their presence is a source of strength not only for patients but also for families struggling to navigate the scary unknown … Nursing is more than a career to me — it is a calling.”

Brown’s outstanding achievements and unwavering commitment to service reflect the core values of the Lybarger Legacy Scholarship.

“Olivia represents the very best of Lucas High School and the future of compassionate health-care professionals,” Lybarger stated.
