MANSFIELD: John A. Pace, of Mansfield, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on May 22, 2025. He was 85.
He was born on April 16, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to parents Nicholas and Helen (Signoracci) Pace. After dating for quite some time, John married the love of his life, Chris Flowers, on July 23, 1988 and the couple shared 57 wonderful years of life together. They were also longtime members of Resurrection Parish.
John had a lifelong passion for HAM radios, classic cars, and boating. His love for the water was most evident during his cherished years living at Candlewood Lake with his wife, Chris, where they enjoyed countless memories on their pontoon boat. John built a successful career as a salesman at the Volkswagen dealership in Columbus, Ohio, as well as at several other dealerships throughout his life. He was known for his warm heart, willingness to help anyone in need, and his unshakeable kindness. John’s presence brought joy and support to everyone he met. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife Chris Pace, cousins Carol Ventresca, Elaine (Shawn) Logsdon, and Larry (Debie) Damato, cousins-in-law Jerome (Elsa) Sopko and Christopher (Marina) Sopko, best friends Tom Wallace and Wayne Coakley, very close friends Sue Subich and Doug (Sandra) Grooms, as well as many more beloved friends.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother Bob Pace, father and mother-in-law Frank and Sophie Flowers, sister and brother-in-law Joanne (Norb) Kuchar, as well as aunt and uncle-in-law Lucille (Frank) Sopko.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
