GALION — Makaree Chapman was virtually untouchable.
Lexington’s left-handed ace twirled a one-hitter as top-seeded Lady Lex breezed to a 6-0 win over No. 3 Clear Fork in the Division IV district championship game in Galion.
Lexington will return to the Sweet 16 for a second straight year and play either Clyde or Milbury Lake at 5 p.m. May 28 in the regional semifinals at a site to be determined.
Clyde and Lake play for a district title Saturday.
Lexington (21-3) gave Chapman all the support she would need in the bottom of the first, scoring three runs.
Chapman helped her own cause with a run-scoring double and scored on an error. Camryn McGuire knocked in the third run of the inning with a single.
Lexington blew it open with three more in the sixth. Chapman hammered a home run to lead off the inning. Addy Williams smacked a two-out, two-run homer later in the frame.
Addy Schlosser had the only hit for the Colts (16-11), a one-out single in the fifth.
