Michael David Miller, age 65, of Mansfield passed away Monday May 19, 2025 at Ohio Health Mansfield after fighting a courageous battle with lung cancer for the last 10 years.

Born January 15, 1960 in Galion, he was the son of Arthur and Evelyn Jean (Grogg) Miller. He married Lynne Shumaker on August 7, 1999 and she survives.

He was a 1978 graduate of Galion High School. He worked as a foreman for the City of Galion Water department from 1989 until retirement in 2024. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Galion. He enjoyed gardening and rooting for the Buckeyes and Browns. He loved to travel, especially out west, and liked to camp and enjoyed sitting around a campfire. He was an avid history buff and spent time watching war movies and westerns.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Shelby (Mitchell Dyer) Miller, stepchildren: Stacy (Aaron) Holt, Brandon (Tiffany) Stewart and a daughter he raised as his own, Kristi (Dustin) Hardy, grandchildren: Blake (Renee) Holt, Addisen Holt, Brynn Holt, Gage Stewart, Kayley Stewart, Briella May Stewart, Kayla Hardy, Jimmy Hardy and Mason Hardy, great grandson Henry Holt, mother Evelyn Jean Miller, siblings: Sharon Fairchild, Barbara (John) Thomas, Terry (Kim) Miller and Kim (Jim) Wetzel, brothers-in-law: Chuck and Mark Shumaker and sister-in-law Judy (Jim) Goebbel and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Miller.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Friday May 23, 2025 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday May 24, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 291 N. Union St. Galion with Jerusha Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
