MADION TOWNSHIP — This school year has seen a 10-month celebration reflecting on the 100th anniversary of the Madison Local School District.
On Saturday, Madison’s 100-year Celebration Carnival took place at the district’s newest building, the junior high school.
Those in attendance had their choice of numerous food trucks, the run of the playground equipment, a couple of inflatable bouncy houses, and a blow-up slide. There were numerous cornhole games available, the high school cosmetology department provided braiding services and hand massages, too.
The highlight, aside from the food, was the participation of school administrators in the dunk tank, including but not limited to superintendent Rob Peterson and high school principal Sean Conway.
“My part of it was to show up and get dunked,” Conway said with a chuckle.
The breezy conditions and low 60s temperatures made that a chilly assignment.
The year-long celebration began at the Alumni Football Game on Aug. 30, 2024, and will wrap with the graduation ceremony of the 100th class on June 1.
