MANSFIELD: Gloria Ruth Gehrke, age 87, passed peacefully at home on May 14, 2025.
Born on February 7, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Leo Earle Petsch and Adeline Ernestine Pioch, Gloria was one of three children. She graduated from high school before marrying Glenn Herbert Gehrke on August 3, 1963. The couple lovingly raised three children. Gloria worked at different times as a cook at the Lutheran parochial school and as a legal secretary. She was hardworking and enjoyed her jobs; in particular, she loved getting out, seeing her coworkers and meeting new friends. Gloria was a member of the Westside Baptist Church and enjoyed quiet moments reading her Bible when not attending services. She was also an avid reader of true crime, and when not busy with church and work, tended to her garden. Never able to sit still, Gloria also enjoyed shopping trips and meals out at Golden Corral.
Gloria is survived by children Gary Gehrke, Randy Gehrke, and Cindy Hall and many more friends and extended family.
She is preceded in death by husband Glenn; parents Leo and Adeline Petsch; and twin brother Gerald Petsch and brother Richard Petsch.
Gloria’s family invites friends and loved ones to call on Tuesday, May 20th from 10am to 12pm at Westside Baptist Church, 3720 West 4th Street, Mansfield, with a service at 12pm. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
