SHELBY — More than $16,000 in scholarships were awarded among eight Shelby FFA members during its annual banquet Wednesday.
Kennedy Studer and Sarah Smith were named Paul Champion Fund Scholarship winners, while Gracie Rodman was awarded this year’s Andy Dawson Memorial Scholarship. Rodman also received the Ohio Earth Tools Book Scholarship.
Outgoing FFA President Jack Stover was named the winner of three scholarships Wednesday, including the Strauch Memorial Ag, Charlie Niese Memorial and Shelby FFA Alumni scholarships.
Cailey Fairchild was the second recipient of the Charlie Niese Memorial Scholarship and Courtney Stiving joined Stover in being awarded an Shelby FFA Alumni Scholarship.
Underclassman JC Cooper received the Ed Schroeder Memorial Freshman Scholarship and Logan Loveless was awarded the Graham Scott Memorial Jacket Scholarship.
Stover and fellow senior Addi Shira were named this year’s Shelby FFA Royalty.
Six Star Awards were also handed out Wednesday. Winners included KiLynn Ebersole (Discovery), Dashawna Davis (Greenhand), Sam Fairchild (Chapter), Natalie Korbas (Junior), Sarah Smith (Senior) and Grace Rietschlin (overall Chapter Farmer).
Top fruit and strawberry sales winners were also announced:

Eisenhauer thanked for years of service
Randy Eisenhauer, Shelby High School agricultural education teacher and FFA adviser, is set to retire after 22 years of dedicated service to Shelby City Schools.
After graduating from Bellevue High School and The Ohio State University, Eisenhauer began his career in education in 1992 at Plymouth High School. After 11 years at Plymouth, he joined the staff at Shelby.
With Eisenhauer at the helm of the program, Shelby FFA grew historically and new classes have been developed along the way, the banquet program outlined. Students and staff thanked Eisenhauer with gifts, including a new Carhartt jacket, and a special tribute video.
The video included remarks from several former students of his, thanking Eisenhauer for the tremendous impact he’s had on their life and the lives of many others.
